Our history
MAD56
It all began on the track. It was the year 2000, and I was racing go-karts on the circuit near my home. Even before the roar of the engines, it was the helmets that caught my eye: the colours, the reflections, the identity. That was the start of an obsession that has stayed with me ever since. Ever since I was a child, I’ve been drawing helmets everywhere, combining my passion for design with my love of motorsport. In 2012, MAD56 was founded, a workshop specialising in the painting of kart, GT and Formula helmets, where every piece is made entirely by hand. Today, having created almost 1,800 helmets, we continue to push the boundaries, experimenting with new materials, finishes and exclusive designs for our drivers.
Throughout our journey, we have had the honour of working with drivers at the very top of motorsport: Charles Leclerc during his winning GP2 season in 2017, Antonio Giovinazzi in Formula 1 with Sauber and Alfa Romeo Racing from 2017 to 2021, as well as in Formula E in 2022, Alex Albon with Red Bull Racing and Williams Racing, right up to 2026 with Sergio Pérez in Formula 1 with the Cadillac Formula 1 Team. For us, a helmet is not just an object: it is identity, character and vision to be brought to the track.

How it works
The Trial
Concept
We start with your vision, images, references and ideas. We transform your story into a bold visual concept, tailored to the shape of your helmet.
Design
We create a digital preview of the concept, modelled on the shape of the helmet. For the rest, we rely on instinct, experience and mutual trust.
Painting
Each helmet is handcrafted using a process based on precision, balance and experience.
Finish
Layer by layer, the helmet takes shape until it achieves a flawless finish, ready for the track.
