My story

MAD56

It all began on the track.
It was the year 2000, and I was racing go-karts on the circuit near my home. Even before the roar of the engines, it was the helmets that caught my eye: the colours, the reflections, the identity. From that moment on, the helmet was no longer just protection, but a symbol. An extension of the driver. Ever since I was a child, I’ve been drawing helmets everywhere. At school, in my notebooks, whenever I had a spare moment. An obsession born alongside my passion for motorsport and transformed, over the years, into a craft built on research, precision and vision.

In 2012, MAD56 was founded: a workshop specialising in the painting of kart, GT and Formula helmets. Each helmet is made entirely by hand, as a unique piece designed to represent the wearer, both on and off the track. Today, having produced almost 1,800 helmets, we continue to evolve, experimenting with new materials, finishes and aesthetic styles to create ever more exclusive designs.

Throughout our journey, we have had the honour of working with drivers at the very top of motorsport. In 2017, we created Charles Leclerc’s helmets during the season that saw him win the GP2 title, and in the same year, those of Antonio Giovinazzi for his Formula 1 debut with Sauber. From 2019 to 2021, Antonio Giovinazzi continued to wear MAD56 helmets on the track in Formula 1 with Alfa Romeo Racing, before continuing the partnership in 2022 in Formula E. This was followed by a collaboration with Alex Albon, a Red Bull Racing driver and now a key figure in Formula 1 with Williams Racing. And in 2026, Sergio Pérez will also take to the track in Formula 1 with the Cadillac Formula 1 Team wearing a MAD56 helmet.

But the heart of our work has remained the same: transforming speed, character and vision into something unique to wear on the track.
